The caretaker Punjab government has introduced a convenient online platform for obtaining a driving learner’s license, aiming to simplify and expedite the licensing procedure, given the substantial number of applicants.
Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi unveiled this online facility, emphasizing its accessibility through the Punjab Police app and its availability at 737 police stations and all Khidmat Marakiz across Punjab.
How to apply for a learner’s license online:
- Create an account on the DLIMS licensing website.
- Complete the application form.
- Upload necessary documents.
- Generate a payment slip ID and proceed with payment via ATM, online banking, or mobile banking channels.

Documents needed for the online application include:
- Applicant’s photo.
- Scanned copy/picture of both sides of the original CNIC.
- A medical certificate endorsed by a government doctor for applicants above 50 years.
It’s important to note that there has been a substantial increase in learner’s driving license fees approved by the provincial cabinet, soaring from Rs. 60 to Rs. 1000, marking a 1566% surge.
However, citizens have the opportunity to apply for licenses at the existing rate until December 31. Following January 1, 2024, a revised fee structure will come into effect.
