An explosion in the northern Pakistani city of Peshawar early Tuesday injured four youngsters ages seven to ten, as well as an adult, according to hospital and rescue personnel.

The spokesperson for emergency rescue services, Bilal Ahmad Faizi, said an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated on a popular route in Peshawar at 9:10am. He stated that five persons were injured, four of whom were youngsters.
Two of the youngsters were in critical condition, according to Mohammad Asim, a spokesperson at the Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar.
