Employees of distribution firms (DISCOs), generation companies (GENCOs), and the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) have had their free electricity units revoked by the federal government.

 According to a notification issued by the Power Division on Tuesday, the federal cabinet has approved the monetization of free power units available to WAPDA and ex-WAPDA personnel, including DISCOs, GENCOs, National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC), and Power Information Technology Company (PITC).
