TikTok removes over 14 million video in Pakistan

TikTok, the famous short-video platform, has taken down more than 14 million videos in the second quarter of 2023 due to breaches of its community rules.

In its latest report, TikTok revealed that it removed these videos in Pakistan, all in line with its community guidelines.

What’s noteworthy is that a big chunk of these videos, around 83.6%, were removed before anyone could watch them, and nearly 92.5% were taken down within a day after being posted, according to the report.

While the report didn’t specify the exact reasons for removal, it underlined TikTok’s commitment to stopping the spread of false information and other harmful content.

Furthermore, TikTok has also taken steps to deal with accounts of users under the age of 13, resulting in the removal of 18.8 million such accounts worldwide. The removal process was handled by automated systems, with over 6.4 million videos being reinstated after being reviewed by employees.

The report proudly states that TikTok achieved an impressive proactive removal rate of 98.6% in the second quarter of 2023.
