PML-N senator says that the PTI leaders’ papers were widely rejected, harming democracy

A PML-N senator startled many on Monday by claiming that the widespread rejection of the nomination papers of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) candidates was bad for democracy, just as members of Jamiat-i-Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) appeared to be pushing for a last-minute postponement of the general elections.

He emphasized that past errors must not be made again and that elections of the kind that were held in 2018 should not be held again. He said that intelligence and security services had planned and orchestrated the 2018 elections.
