The production of petroleum products experienced a notable upswing, marking a 7.55% increase during July-October 2023-24, according to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS). The indices rose from 85.81 in July-October 2022-23 to 92.29 in the same period of the current fiscal year.
However, October saw a downturn in petroleum products production, experiencing an 8.19% decline.

Specifically, high-speed diesel observed a substantial 14.80% growth, reaching an output of 1.752 billion liters in July-October 2023-24 compared to 1.526 billion liters in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
Furnace oil also demonstrated a significant increase in output by 16.34%, amounting to 880.770 million liters during July-October 2023-24 as opposed to 757.062 million liters in July-October 2022-23. Conversely, jet fuel oil witnessed a decline of 13.02%, registering a production of 257.307 million liters in July-October 2023-24 compared to 295.822 million liters in the same period of the preceding fiscal year.

Kerosene oil showed a marginal growth of 0.26% in July-October 2023-24, remaining at 33.469 million liters compared to 33.383 million liters.
Additionally, PBS data revealed a 7.10% increase in cement production during July-October 2023-24, totaling 14.071 million tons compared to 13.138 million tons in the corresponding period of the prior fiscal year.
