Pakistan’s Prime Minister Emphasizes Strengthening Bilateral Relations with Turkey

In a recent meeting with Turkish Ambassador Dr. Mehmet Pacaci, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to deepening cooperation with Turkey across various sectors. The discussions, held in Islamabad, highlighted the importance of enhancing ties in trade, defense, connectivity, and cultural exchange.

Prime Minister Sharif underscored the historical, religious, and cultural bonds that form the foundation of the strong bilateral relations between Pakistan and Turkey. Emphasizing the need for concerted efforts, he expressed the goal of achieving a bilateral trade target of five billion dollars annually.

Addressing core issues, Prime Minister Sharif commended Turkey for its unwavering support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and reiterated Pakistan’s backing for Turkey regarding the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Ambassador Pacaci conveyed congratulations to Prime Minister Sharif on his re-election and emphasized the significance of further strengthening the fraternal ties between the two countries.

Prime Minister Sharif extended gratitude for President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s congratulatory message following his re-election and congratulated Turkey on the successful flight of the KAAN 5th generation fighter aircraft.

Additionally, Prime Minister Sharif extended an invitation to President Erdogan to visit Pakistan, expressing anticipation for fruitful discussions during the 7th session of the High-Level Strategic Coordination Council.

The meeting underscores Pakistan’s commitment to bolstering its longstanding and mutually beneficial relationship with Turkey across various domains, laying the groundwork for enhanced cooperation and collaboration in the future.
