The Directorate General of Immigration and Passport (DGI&P) has expanded the e-passport option across the country after it was first introduced in Islamabad. The e-passport service was first introduced in Islamabad in June, and it is now available nationwide. Furthermore, the government intends to establish smart gates at major international airports in Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi.
