Precautionary Measures Directed by CM Maryam Amidst Forecasted Rainfall in Punjab

In response to the forecast of thunderous rainfall and increased cold expected in Punjab from the 11th to the 14th of this month, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed all relevant departments to take precautionary measures. She emphasized the importance of keeping the public informed through electronic and social media, as well as mobile alerts. Additionally, measures for the protection of cattle in rural areas were highlighted. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) issued an alert, warning of unexpected weather patterns, including rain and snowfall in various regions. Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and the Pothohar regions are expected to experience rain, thunderstorms, and potential snowfall on hills. Cloudy conditions are anticipated in most regions from March 8 to 10, with isolated rain in Central and Southern Punjab. Considerable snowfall may occur in northern Pakistan, leading to temporary road closures. From March 10 to 12, rain and thunderstorms are forecasted in southern and northern Balochistan, as well as western and higher regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir.
