Smart Lockdown: Educational institutions closed in 10 districts of Punjab, including Lahore

A smart lockdown has been imposed in 10 districts of Punjab, including Lahore, given the worsening smog situation.

In the wake of the smart lockdown, educational institutions are closed today and tomorrow in 10 districts of Punjab, including Lahore. These districts are Lahore, Nankana Sahib, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Hafizabad and Mandi Bahauddin.

Markets will be open today and tomorrow at 3 pm. While business will be completely closed on Sunday, the entry of vehicles will be closed on Sunday on the Mall Road in Lahore, and only cycling will be allowed.

On the other hand, expressing concerns over the government’s decision to close the markets, the traders said that the government should close the government offices and banks instead of the markets.

The traders’ community said the government should review the decision to open the markets at 3 pm on Friday.

Meanwhile, Lahore could not eliminate smog; the provincial capital is still the first in the world regarding air pollution, the average air quality index has been recorded at 473, and Karachi’s air is also polluted.

Due to air pollution, citizens are beginning to suffer from diseases; medical experts say that respiratory patients should take special care, ensure the use of masks, and avoid unnecessary travel.
