Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), has offered guidance to Nawaz Sharif, the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN), advising him to place trust in his party without seeking support from other institutions to secure political space in the upcoming February 2024 general elections.
During a press conference, Bilawal emphasized the importance for Nawaz Sharif to rely solely on the strength of his party and refrain from seeking external assistance to carve out a space for PMLN in the political arena. He suggested focusing on Lahore as the primary political stronghold for PMLN while highlighting PPP’s emphasis on engaging with the people and promoting pro-people policies.
Addressing the issue of political disruptions faced by PMLN in Lahore, Bilawal urged Nawaz Sharif to address these challenges internally within the party. He clarified PPP’s stance, affirming that their focus remains on the people rather than engaging in disputes with any institution.

Expressing concern over the country’s economic crisis, Bilawal drew attention to pressing issues such as inflation, poverty, and unemployment, highlighting the tragic outcomes, including reported suicides due to the inability to meet basic needs, especially for children. He emphasized the disconnect between policymakers in Islamabad and the harsh realities faced by the public, stressing the need for elected representatives to have a profound understanding of these challenges.
Bilawal reiterated PPP’s commitment to addressing the struggles of the underprivileged through groundbreaking initiatives like the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), aimed at directly assisting impoverished segments of society. He emphasized that his political endeavors are centered on addressing the nation’s challenges rather than engaging in divisive politics, advocating for constructive dialogue over baseless accusations and divisive tactics.
In advocating for a comprehensive victory for PPP representatives, Bilawal underscored the party’s dedication to introducing transformative projects that benefit the marginalized. He reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive politics, focusing on solutions rather than engaging in contentious approaches to political engagement.
