In a tragic incident near Haram Gate Mohalla Jawadian in Multan, a three-storey residential building collapsed, claiming the lives of nine individuals, including men, women, and children. Among the victims were Danish, Faheem, Ameer Ali, Waseem, Komal, and Bakhtawar, as confirmed by rescue sources.

Prompt response from emergency services ensued, with rescue teams mobilized to the scene to retrieve survivors and recover bodies from the debris. Two critically injured individuals were rushed to Nishtar Hospital, where an emergency was declared to ensure swift medical attention.

The rescue operation concluded, and Multan Deputy Commissioner Rizwan Qadeer announced the formation of a specialized team to inspect neighboring buildings, ensuring the safety of residents in the vicinity.

Initial reports from locals attribute the collapse to a cylinder explosion, highlighting the urgent need for thorough investigations to ascertain the cause and prevent similar incidents in the future.

Expressing profound sorrow over the loss of lives, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz conveyed her condolences to the bereaved families and extended sympathy to those affected by the tragedy. She has directed the Multan commissioner to provide an immediate report, emphasizing the government’s commitment to ensuring accountability and swift action in response to such disasters.
