The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has declared that there will be uninterrupted gas supply during Sehr and Iftar times throughout the holy month of Ramadan, according to a report by ARY News.

As Ramadan is expected to commence on Wednesday, March 13, Pakistanis can rely on consistent gas availability during the crucial times for fasting and breaking the fast.

In a statement, SSGC assured the public of no loadshedding during Sehr and Iftar, with gas supply remaining uninterrupted from 9 am to 3 pm and from 10 pm to 3 am during the month of Ramadan.

The company emphasized its commitment to ensuring continued gas supply during these essential periods for Muslims observing fasting rituals. However, it also highlighted the challenge posed by the declining gas reserves in Pakistan, diminishing by 8 to 10 percent annually.

SSGC also noted the increasing consumption of gas and emphasized the importance of transitioning to Regasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG) from local gas to meet the country’s energy needs. The company is actively working on various alternative energy sources, including biogas, nitrogen production, and coal gasification.

In a related development, the caretaker government recently raised gas tariffs across Pakistan in compliance with the conditions set by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), indicating ongoing efforts to address energy sector challenges in the country.
