PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif has directed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to expedite the formation of a federal cabinet and promptly commence the implementation of their party’s manifesto. This directive came during a consultative meeting held at the Prime Minister’s Chamber in Parliament House, coinciding with the ongoing presidential election in the National Assembly hall.
The meeting focused on the government formation process under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership, with Nawaz Sharif stressing the urgency of forming a cabinet and addressing the pressing issues outlined in the party’s manifesto. Prime Minister Sharif echoed these sentiments, prioritizing the resolution of people’s problems as the government’s foremost objective.
Discussions also revolved around engaging allied parties and ensuring their participation in the government, with former finance minister Ishaq Dar providing updates on discussions with allied parties. Nawaz Sharif expressed confidence in Asif Zardari’s victory in the presidential election and highlighted the significant challenges ahead, particularly regarding inflation, which necessitates immediate attention.
Shehbaz Sharif was instructed to swiftly form the cabinet and initiate the implementation of the party’s manifesto, with additional efforts focused on persuading the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) to join the federal cabinet. The meeting underscored PML-N’s commitment to effective governance and its determination to address the nation’s pressing issues, setting a proactive agenda for the incoming government.
