Vivo is gearing up to unveil its latest smart wearable, the Vivo Watch 3, alongside the Vivo X100 flagship phone on November 13. Official images of the watch have now been revealed, showcasing it in two color variants.
The teasers provide a sneak peek into the Watch 3’s features. It will come with a digital crown button for navigation, along with a side button, speaker, and microphone cutouts, strongly suggesting support for voice calls. The initial release is expected to offer at least two color choices: black and beige.
While the teasers don’t show various strap options, it’s typical for smartwatches to come with a range of choices. The Vivo Watch 3 is also likely to be available in different sizes. Overall, the design of the wearable bears a resemblance to the Google Pixel Watch.
Additionally, the Watch 3 is set to debut with Vivo’s own BlueOS operating system. This OS is built using the Rust programming language and is designed to support various input methods, including voice and gestures, ensuring smooth connectivity with Vivo smartphones and other wearables.
BlueOS is also praised for its efficiency, being 67% more memory-efficient and saving 48% more power, which is excellent for devices like smartwatches. Vivo claims that the new OS will also offer an 18% improved response speed thanks to a super coroutine mechanism. The operating system can run on devices with as little as 32MB of RAM.
Notably, BlueOS includes support for Large Language Models (LLMs) and multimodal interactions, catering to the trend of generative AI.
However, it’s important to note that Vivo has not revealed any plans to release BlueOS for its smartphones. For now, Vivo phones will continue to feature Origin OS in China and Funtouch OS in China.
