Pakistan Meteorological Department Forecasts Ramadan 2024 Moon Birth and Weather Conditions

5/5 - (1 vote)

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the Ramadan 2024 moon is expected to be born at 2 pm on March 10 (Sunday). The age of the moon at the time of sighting on March 11 will be more than 28 hours, strengthening the chances of its sighting on Monday.

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will convene in Islamabad, along with zonal committees in their respective regions, to receive and assess moon sighting reports and announce the official sighting of the moon. The holy month of Ramadan, observed with religious fervor, will see millions of Pakistanis and billions of Muslims worldwide fasting from dawn till sunset, with fasting hours ranging from 12 to 17 hours depending on geographical locations.

However, the weather may pose challenges for moon sighting, with central and upper parts of Sindh expected to be cloudy on March 11 due to the influence of a western wave. Similarly, Balochistan is also anticipated to have cloudy weather. The upper regions of the country are expected to experience cloudy conditions as well, potentially affecting moon sighting.

In Karachi, partly cloudy weather is forecasted, while Balochistan may experience thunderstorms in certain areas. Rainfall is expected in various parts of Balochistan and other regions in the coming days, including Turbat, Kech, Jeoni, Ormara, Pasni, Lasbela, Awaran, Kalat, and more. Additionally, there is a chance of rain in Jamshoro, Dadu, Larkana, and Qamber Shahdadkot in the upcoming days, according to the PMD predictions.
