In a recent development, Lieutenant General (retired) Chiragh Haider Baloch has been appointed as the federal secretary of the Ministry of Defence Production. This announcement was made via a notification issued by the Establishment Division, confirming his appointment on a two-year contract.

Lt. Gen Chiragh Baloch, hailing from Sahiwal, district Sargodha, has an illustrious background in the Pakistan Army. He was commissioned in the Frontier Force Regiment and has held various prestigious positions throughout his career. Some of his notable roles include serving as the Director General of the Joint Staff Headquarters, Director General of Military Training, and General Officer Commanding of the Infantry Division in Jhelum.

In recognition of his exemplary service, Lt. Gen Chiragh Baloch was awarded the Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military) in 2019 and was subsequently promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General. He also assumed the position of Commander of Corps II in Multan in 2021, succeeding Lt. Gen Waseem Ashraf.

With his extensive experience and proven leadership skills, Lt. Gen Chiragh Haider Baloch is well-equipped to contribute to the Ministry of Defence Production and further enhance Pakistan’s defence capabilities.
