Punjab Postponed Driving License Fee Increase

Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi of Punjab has made an important announcement regarding the driving license fee. The planned increase, which was set to take effect today, has been postponed by Chief Minister Naqvi. This delay extends until January 9, allowing individuals to obtain their licenses at the current fee.

Previously, the caretaker government had intended a substantial rise in the fee for both car and motorcycle licenses, marking a staggering 1566% increase from Rs. 60 to Rs. 1000. However, CM Naqvi’s recent announcement offers temporary relief to citizens by maintaining the current fee for now.

Additionally, CM Naqvi virtually inaugurated 36 upgraded police stations and officially opened the new building for Lahore’s Gulshan Iqbal police station. During his inspection of the new facilities, he expressed satisfaction with the improved amenities, including carpeted counters, comfortable furniture, and a well-uniformed staff.
