Govt crackdown continues: major drugs seizures, arrests across Pakistan

Continuing its relentless pursuit against illegal narcotics, the government’s recent operations spanning from November 5th to 12th resulted in a substantial confiscation of 3143 kilograms of illicit substances across Pakistan. This recent sweep led to the apprehension of over 34 individuals involved in these unlawful activities.

During these operations conducted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Sindh, law enforcement successfully intercepted 2644 kilograms of narcotics. Furthermore, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa contributed to the seizure with 234 kilograms, while Gilgit reported 117 kilograms. Notably, Balochistan made a significant haul, seizing 1740 kilograms of contraband, including 28 kilograms of methamphetamine and 25 kilograms of heroin.

Across the country during this period, authorities intercepted and confiscated a total of 2091 kilograms of cannabis and 240 kilograms of opium.

This latest effort adds to the success of the crackdown initiated on September 1st, resulting in the seizure of a staggering 33,924 kilograms of narcotics nationwide. As a consequence, more than 435 individuals involved in drug trafficking have been apprehended, furthering the government’s commitment to curbing this pressing issue.
