In a recent development, Bushra Bibi, the wife of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, has expressed a lack of confidence in Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Aamir Farooq. In a move to address this concern, her legal counsel has formally requested a transfer of all their ongoing cases to a different bench, citing concerns over perceived uniformity in the chief justice’s rulings on their petitions.

This request was met with a response from Chief Justice Farooq, who deemed the lawyer’s language inappropriate but assured that the court would address the matter accordingly. In response to Bushra Bibi’s plea, the court has issued notices to various bar councils for their input and assistance, including the Supreme Court, Islamabad High Court bar associations, and the Pakistan Bar Councils.

Simultaneously, Bushra Bibi has excused herself from appearing before the National Accountability Bureau’s Rawalpindi office. Instead, she has submitted her response through legal representation, citing personal reasons for her inability to attend. Seeking a postponement, she has requested a later date next week for her appearance before the bureau.

This development arises in connection to the investigation concerning the 190-million-pound Al-Qadir Trust case, with Bushra Bibi summoned by NAB for questioning. Additionally, her associate Farah Gogi has also been summoned in relation to the same case once again.
